In 2002, Brighstone Landscaping won the largest grounds maintenance contract ever awarded on the Isle of Wight, valued at approximately £2.3m over six years.

The contract involves the maintenance and care of 97 sites, comprising:

• 61 open spaces
• 6 principal parks
• 16 sports fields, bowling greens and cricket squares
• 10 car parks
• 4 public toilets

The scope of work and responsibilities includes:

• Planting and maintenance of 70,000 bedding plants
• 5 bowling greens
• 2 cricket squares
• 20 football/Rugby pitches
• A pitch and putt golf course
• Shrub, rose and herbaceous border maintenance
• A boating lake
• 7 ornamental ponds
• 3 streams
• 17 areas of special scientific interest (SSI's)
• An arboretum
